SPARE TIME

When the temperature changes it always comes as a surprise to me... and yet it happens every year... at the same time. Change comes in all kinds of forms. It happens slowly over time or in the blink of an eye, and usually when you're least expecting it. The only thing that you can really count on with change is that it is inevitable.

SUMMER VIBES

Sometimes I get the feeling that my life is going in bad a direction and it's because I've made bad choices. All summer I couldn't shake the thought that somehow I'd made some terrible mistake and couldn't go back now. It took me four months of feeling trapped in the city to realize that however much control we think we have over our lives, it can be taken from us in a heartbeat.
So instead of regretting my descisions, I guess I just need to embrace these moments.

FOREST AWAKE

This past spring two close friends and I went on a camping trip out into the north of Quebec. The forest was still in thaw after the heavy winter we'd had so you could taste the fresh air.

WATERMELON

Here's an image a from a roll of slide film I shot two summers ago. My friends and I spent almost every day in the park that summer. I only got the chance to print this recently and although it's years later this photo seems to perfectly illustrate Montreal summers.

APRIL

Last month's freedom from assignments left me hungry to shoot the subjects I love without any need for concept or reason. By accident I loaded my camera with redscale film which turned most of the roll yellow, but still, I'm pleased with the results. I took a trip back to my hometown for a week during which I spent almost every moment drinking with some of my best friends. We took a daytrip to a small town 2hrs into the wilderness to hold an important meeting of tag and getting into trouble. It was a wonderful break from the city.
It was all very relaxing right up until I came back down to earth (MTL) and realised I have responsabilities besides being a student.
summer jobs await...

STRANGE ORIGINS

Spring is confusing. No one knows what they are doing and everyone's plans are up in the air like pollen searching for a place to land. It can feel liberating but at the same time frustrating for someone who is as impatient as I am. The weather is always reminding me of this.  Nature is renewing itself and the rain is carrying away all the garbage off the streets so that the city can breathe. I get more and more restless as the days grow warmer.
